European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA)

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) provides guidance in the framework agreement on prevention from sharp injuries in the hospital and healthcare sector. Chemfort® meets EU-OSHA’s requirements.

The purpose of the framework agreement is to:

  • Achieve the safest possible working environment
  • Prevent workers’ injuries caused by all medical sharps (including needle-sticks)
  • Protect workers at risk
  • Set up an integrated approach establishing policies in risk assessment, risk prevention, training, information, awareness raising and monitoring
  • Put in place response and follow-up procedures.

The agreement applies to all workers in the hospital and healthcare sector. The mission of EU OSHA, the European Union information agency for occupational safety and health (OSH), is to make European workplaces safer, healthier and more productive places to work.
