ToxiGuard® Drug-Binding Matrix Mechanical Barrier CSTD

Located in the Vial Adaptor, the ToxiGuard® Drug-Binding Matrix is a mechanical barrier that physically locks hazardous drug molecules and prevents the release of cytotoxic and other harmful drug vapors, aerosols and droplets into the environment during drug preparation and reconstitution. Additionally, it blocks airborne contaminants and particles from entering the drug or fluid path, ensuring a sterile environment.

    How Does Activated Carbon Keep You Safe?

    Activated carbon, particularly in the cloth form, is the most versatile adsorbent material known. Activated carbon adsorbs aerosols and drug vapors with high efficiency. The activated carbon (charcoal) works in combination with the 0.2 μm hydrophobic and oleophobic membrane. The membrane ensures that the vial is kept sterile by preventing microorganisms and particles from entering from the surrounding environment. It also prevents liquids from the vial from escaping to the outside.
